Planning

Planning is an emotive issue, we all generally agree that ‘something must be done’ but not next door or over the road! This is complicated by the ‘deemed consent’ rules which allow significantly large changes to be made provided ‘Building Controls’ are adhered to

If you are interested in what is happening in the area, take a look at the Croydon Council website The Planning Section is where it is possible to search for a specific planning application number, or search by the house number and address.  It also allows searching for works subject to Building Control, which can be all that is needed for even significant building works.

As ever, your local councillors can be contacted regarding any planning applications you become aware of.  ASPRA does circulate some details regarding significant applications to those close to the location. If there is an issue you would like to object to in the Addiscombe area, do share it with us either on our facebook page or via email – planning@aspra.uk.

When objecting to planning applications, it is worth noting that you should always refer to valid planning objections, as listed in the guide here. Planning officers are often restricted to making decisions based on these set criteria, and are unable to take into account individual opinions, societal matters, history or cosmetic concerns.
